Rechargeable batteries for hearing aids - Yes or No?

If dexterity and vision problems are issues for you, consider getting hearing aids with rechargeable batteries. Slip the units into the charger each evening and have fresh batteries for the wearing day. The negative is that you must bring your charger with you when you travel. The cost of the rechargeable batteries, charger and rechargeable aids is not much different over the life of the rechargeable aids than the cost of using regular disposable batteries with non-rechargeable aids though. Just an option to think about. Let your hearing health care provider help you decide!

HURRICANES AND HEARING: Exposure to strong sustained winds has the potential to create noise-induced hearing loss! Winds of 85 mph and above can cause hearing loss if exposure is prolonged or repeated. The louder the sound, the less exposure it takes. Imagine that Key West experienced sustained winds of 125 mph. Just one more reason to evacuate the island before Hurricane Irma hit.
